Brief description
The aim of this multidisciplinary group is to research and analyse the legal situation and consequences of environmental protection and sustainable development from the Legal Philosophy and Constitutional, Civil, Administrative, Fiscal and Penal Law perspectives both individually and as a whole. This is because the environment is characterised as a truly horizontal discipline. The group’s primary objectives are to:
– Examine in-depth how the different sectors in the Spanish legal structure address environmental protection
– As needed, prepare proposals to modify existing norms with a view to optimising the care given to the environment
– Explore the possibilities of creating a concept of law specifically for the environment and sustainable development based on fundamental rights theory
– Carry out selective and meaningful research from the social, academic and professional belonging perspectives and, insofar as possible, financed research for the group to take on concrete research projects requested by public and private institutions (legal opinions, working documents, etc.).
