Presentation of AMC 2018 Social Responsibility Awards

Once again this year the Aristos Campus Mundus (AMC) Campus of International Excellence has awarded its AMC Social Responsibility Awards. A total of 13 awards were presented at a ceremony held at Comillas Pontifical University, where the value of volunteer work for Jesuit Universities was highlighted.

The first prize of the Good Practices Award for University Development Cooperation in the undergraduate category was awarded to the project Big Data para el Desarrollo Sostenible: Un estudio de casos en Indonesia, by Daniela Pacheco, a student at Comillas. The second prize was not awarded.  In this category, the project Educación para la sostenibilidad: Construcción antropológica de los agentes de cambio by Natalia Fernández de Cañete from ICADE Faculty of Business and Economics at Comillas received a special mention award. 

In the postgraduate category, the first prize was for the project La ansiedad en los Menores Extranjeros No Acompañados que se encuentran en Ceuta. Una aproximación desde la mirada de los expertos que trabajan con ellos by Celia Galve, a Law Faculty student (Comillas ICADE). The second one was for Resiliencia en migrantes forzosos subsaharianos by Noemí Larraz, from Comillas CIHS.

The first prize in the Good Practices in University Social Commitment category was for Maria Tomàs-Rodó Valls, a student at Ramon Llull University who presented a project entitled Informe proyecto de becas para la niña. The second prize was for Oscar Martínez Rivera, also from Ramon Llul University, for his project Utilización de la tecnologia para sensibilizar sobre la accesibilidad.  Likewise, M.ª Antonia Olalla Marañón and Sara García Tasich, received a special mention award for their project El español como lengua de aprendizaje y servicio.

In the undergraduate category, the first prize of the ACM Ignacio Ellacuría Award for Social Interest Studies,  was for Perspectivas y desafíos del régimen de protección del refugiado: Análisis crítico de la situación actual y propuestas de ‘lege ferenda’ para el Pacto Mundial sobre Refugiados de 2018 by Rocío Marazuela, an ICADE Comillas student. The second prize was awarded to the project Estratègia d’acompanyament en salut mental per a persones senes llar/sense sostre by Toni Marcilla Silvero from Ramon Llull University. Furthermore, Mercè Abad Martin, also from Ramon Llul University, received a special mention award for her project La sexualidad de la mujer con úlceras venosas, estudio exploratorio. Likewise, Ester Brito, from Comillas Pontifical University, also received a special mention award for her work Analizando los condicionantes y proyecciones de desarrollo económico en el tráfico de personas en el Sureste Asiático.

In the postgraduate category, the first prize was for the project Elementos políticos y psicosociales para la reflexión sobre la responsabilidad social penal de los y las menores en el sistema jurídico español, presented by Melanie Ross Hurtado from the University of Deusto.  The second prize was not awarded.  Lara Rodríguez García, from Deusto University, received a special mention award for her project Trayectorias hacia la mayoría de edad de jóvenes migrantes sin referentes familiares en Vizcaya: análisis de dos casos.

After the awards presentation ceremony, the Aristos Campus Mundus International Summer Volunteering programmes were presented.
