26 March, 2015

Ramon Llull University received a delegation of 19 people from the University of St. Gallen. The group was led by the Minister of Education, Stefan Kölliker, and Rector of the university, Thomas Bieger. They visited RLU to find out about its governance model, which is unique in Spain. The group also received information about the Aristos Campus Mundus (ACM) strategic aggregation model.

RLU is a federation formed by eleven higher education and research institutions with a long standing tradition and renowned prestige in Catalonia. It is also a member of the strategic aggregation formed with the universities of Deusto (Basque Country) and Comillas (Madrid) and of an international aggregation with the American universities of Georgetown, Boston College and Fordham, the Argentinian Catholic University of Córdoba and the Brazilian Unisinos, all of which forms part of the internationalisation framework of the ACM Campus of International Excellence project with other leading universities.

ACM gives priority to an aggregated alumni network that has thousands of professional members from different areas of knowledge, all of whom have studied at these universities. This provides ACM with a prestigious network of institutions, companies, and social entities that boost its students’ job placement.

Lastly, the Saint Gallen delegation was welcomed at the Catalonian Government Department of Universities and Research by Antoni Castellà, Lluís Jofre and Claudi Alsina
